Cleveland BTOC Convention Covid Protocol
updated June 7, 2021
We are hoping that all of our attendees have had the opportunity to receive their vaccination prior to the start of our Convention. At this time, we are not required to check Covid-19 Vaccination Record Cards. The State of Ohio lifted all covid restrictions on 6/2/21 for those who are fully vaccinated. For individuals not fully vaccinated a mask is still required indoors and outdoors. The City of Independence and our host hotel have elected to follow the State’s guidelines at this time.
Based on current standards the following rules will be in place during the convention.
· Face masks are not required at the hotel including all convention events as long as you are fully vaccinated. Those not fully vaccinated including children) must wear a face mask anytime you are outside of your guest room.
· The Buckeye State Garden Railroaders Open Houses and the Northeast Ohio Live Steamers have requested that we wear face masks to their respective events.
· Restaurants--face masks requirements are up to the individual proprietor of area restaurants at this time. Call ahead to check.
· When planning visits to destinations listed in the Cleveland Travel Guide suggest you call ahead to determine what the latest face mask requirements are.
Probably a good idea to bring your Covid-19 Vaccination Record Card with you just in case it is needed to be shown during your time in and around Cleveland.
Please remember it is in everyone’s best interest to adhere to the Covid rules that are in place to assure a healthy and memorable week in Cleveland.
These standards may change before or even during the Convention. The rules in effect at that time will govern the protocol.
A final reminder to properly social distance for your own and others safety and use disinfectants, when possible, in public areas. As an additional safety procedure, the club will provide hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes in each of the Convention Rooms.
